Step-by-Step Description of Movements:

The pattern begins when the instructor commands the student to come to attention (cha-ryeot).  When given this command, assume an Attention Stance on the X on the AB line, facing D.  This is followed by the instructor stating the pattern that the student will perform (Sam-il teul).

On the command to assume the ready position (jun-bi), move the left foot to B to form a Close Ready Stance type C toward D.  Remain in this close ready stance type C toward D until given the command to begin the pattern.

When the command to begin the pattern is given (si-jak), perform the following individual movements in sequence. The pattern should be performed according to the guidelines listed in the section on essential points in performing patterns.

1.   Move the left foot to D in a sliding motion to form a right L-stance toward D, while executing (half facing) a middle outer forearm guarding block to D.

Perform this move in a sliding motion.

2.   Move the right foot to D to form a right walking stance toward D, while executing (half facing) a high block to D with the right double forearm.

3.   Move the left foot to D to form a left walking stance toward D, while executing (half facing) a high side block to D with the right knifehand, bringing the left finger belly on the right back forearm.

4.   Execute a middle twisting kick to AD with the ball of the right foot, keeping the position of the hands as they were in move 3 above (a high side block with the right knifehand holding the left finger belly on the right back forearm).

5.   Lower the right foot to D to form a right walking stance toward D, while executing (full facing) a middle front punch to D with the right forefist.

6.   Prior to moving the body, move the ball of the right foot on the CD line (half a shoulder width toward B and half a shoulder width toward C).  Then, pivoting on the ball of the right foot, move the left foot to C to form a sitting stance toward B, while executing (full facing) a middle wedging block with the reverse knifehand.

Perform this move in a spot-turning motion - method one.

7.   While pivoting on the ball of the right foot, move the left foot to C to form a left walking stance toward C, while executing (full facing) a low front thrust to C with the right upset fingertip.

8.   Pull the left foot toward the right foot to form a right L-stance toward C, while executing (half facing) a low block to C with the left outer forearm and a high outward block to D with the right outer forearm.

9.   Move the right foot to C to form a sitting stance toward A, while executing (half facing) a middle wedging block with the reverse knifehands.

10.  Pull the right foot toward the left foot to form a left L-stance toward C, while executing (half facing) a low punch to C with the right double fist.

13.  Move the right foot on the CD line to form a right L-stance toward D, while executing (half facing) a low punch to D with the left double fist.

17.  Jump and spin around counterclockwise, landing on the same spot to form a left L-stance toward B, while executing (half facing) a middle knifehand guarding block to B.

Perform this move in a jumping motion.

18.  Execute a middle side piercing kick to B with the right footsword, at same time forming a knifehand guarding block.

19.  Lower the ball of the right foot to the side of the left foot, then move the left foot to A to form a left walking stance toward A, while executing (full facing) a front strike to D with the right elbow, striking the left palm and finger belly with the right elbow.

20.  While pivoting on the ball of the left foot and turning counter clockwise, move the right foot to A to form a left diagonal stance toward D, while thrusting (full facing) to C with the left back elbow, at the same time supporting the left forefist with the right finger belly and turning the face to look over the left shoulder to C.

Perform this move in a stamping motion.

28.  Move the right foot to C to form a left L-stance toward C, while executing (half facing) a low block to C with the right outer forearm, pulling the left under fist under the left armpit.

29.  While maintaining a left L-stance toward C, execute (full facing) a middle punch to C with the left forefist, bringing the right under fist over the left shoulder.

30.  While pivoting on the ball of the right foot and turning counterclockwise, move the left foot to D to form a left walking stance toward D, while executing (full facing) a middle front block to D with the right outer forearm.

Perform this move in a double-stepping, stamping motion.

After completing the last movement, wait one move interval and then shout "Sam-il" as though it were a "gi-hap."  Remain in the position of this last move until given the command to return to the ready position (ba-ro).

END:
When the command to return to the ready position (ba-ro) is given, bring the left foot to the right foot to form a close ready stance type C toward D.   Remain in this stance until given the at-ease command (swi-eot).
